We have a new house! When we got it, it definately needed some TLC. We've already made some improvements. When we got it, it looked like a haunted house:

But we got the trees cut back, and you can actually see the house now!



Painting the porch made a pretty big difference too. Now the next big project is to actually get the place decorated. This is our family room now:

I'm debating whether to make or just buy some curtains. The other thing we need is some cute throw pillows, something modern so that it doesn't look too country in here. We also need to get some different throws that tie into the room a bit better.


We tried putting a mirror above the fireplace, but it just ended up looking weird because you got a big 'ol refleciton of the ceiling fan. I'm thinking of getting a black and white IKEA print on canvas for that spot instead...


I want something that doesn't compete with the painting in the room (the one with the Carla Thompson arrow) since thats already bringing in quite a bit of color. We also need to get some candles and little vases or something for the mantle yet. I'm thinking these block candle holders from IKEA.....
